Learning to Live Life with a Full Heart

Fun in the Sun

June 18, 2009

It has been an interesting week. I have been driving the truck, which has been so nice! The car is sad and doesn’t like to go very far, so I am giving it a rest. My mom and I went to the beach on Wednesday with the kids. I haven’t yet been to the beach with both kids. We had a lot of fun. I got a little crispy, but not too bad. Sand Key June 2009

We kept telling Noah not to feed the seagulls. They were pretty feisty! This one bird tried to steal my whole sandwich!
silly seagull

Noah did not listen even though my mom warned him that the seagulls would poop on his head. Ha! This was the result of one piece of thrown PB and Honey.
Please don't poop on my head!

I couldn’t help but laugh! Those stupid birds bothered us for the rest of the time we were there. Noah really enjoyed collecting seashells. It reminded me of all the times my mom took me to the beach when I was little. Nora did not get the concept of NOT walking across the beach blankets with her dirty sandy feet and Noah kept running to the water to “wash” his hands. I don’t like the sand either. Nora was so mad that she had to carry her own towel and sand bucket toys that she screamed bloody murder all the way to the car and then promptly fell asleep once we started the trek home. I so remember walking across the hot sand with a bunch of stuff when I was her age trailing after my mom…it seemed like MILES!

Summer is definitely here. It was so weird today. It was ridiculously hot and then about 4pm a storm rolled in and had the trees and red lights and signs swinging! It looked like footage from a hurricane, but only lasted about 20 minutes. There was even hail! I could not believe it. I took a little personal time today to come home and relax by doing laundry and picking up the house. Everything just seems better when you have a few moments of peace and quiet doing mundane things like dishes or laundry.

Hey, you.

Hey, you.

I'm a mom of four in a step family, co-parenting (sorta) with the ex and wandering through life pondering the big stuff, little stuff and everything in between.

What to expect…

This is a place for me to ponder out loud those things that are still screaming in my head and have gotten passed the journal and my hubby. As well as document milestones along our family journey.

I hope things read here find a connection with you.

I tend to talk about yoga, friendship, chickens, puppies, my kids, trips we take, decisions we make, school and the occasional rant (though I try to delete those before I hit “publish”).

Love is a Place

love is a place
& through this place of
love move
(with brightness of peace)
all places

yes is a world
& in this world of
yes live
(skilfully curled)
all worlds
