Lovely Labor Day

A lthough I was hoping to get some homework done today, I knew the day would most likely be spent with the kids running errands or at the park. We did both. It felt a lot like a Saturday today and it is hard to believe that tomorrow is Tuesday. I am hoping to check out MOPS tomorrow morning and get some much needed girl time along with a healthy dose of bible study (also much needed).

After a few stops this morning for coffee and to check out a possible big change for us, we found our way to Bonny Park. We never made it to this particular park this Summer, so I figured it would feel like new to the kids. They did okay. They played a little, but it took some pushing to get Noah to make new friends. I thought I saw a few people walking to what looked like a trail, so I decided to get us going for a walk. This is us walking…

Noah seems confused as to what Jason is doing (taking the picture), I’m smiling, but unsure if that is exactly what he is doing and Nora doesn’t believe that Noah has spotted a water fountain. lol It was an enjoyable walk despite the confusion. :o) I’m always surprised at the stuff we find on what I’ll call our nature walks. It is nothing like a hike in North Carolina, but we do see nature all around us and have signs everywhere depicting the constant threat of alligators; though none were to be seen on our walk. We did see a lot of butterflies, like this one…

And also a friendly green grasshopper…

It’s fun to point things out and very nice to feel the wind coming off of the lake and smell the lake air and the sweet scent of fruit (what kind? I do not know). It started to rain just as we were almost to the car. A nice end to a fun outing.
