I’ve been wanting to blog for a few days now, but our internet has been down. We are lucky to have anything more than dial-up to begin with, so I try not to complain too much when it goes out.
No internet means the kids read books instead of begging to watch something on Netflix. I read or knit and Jason piddledinks downstairs on a project. It is a nice change.
What was also a nice change was this year’s Thanksgiving. We went to Jason’s parents house a week early. His family is full of nurses without a set schedule, so we had to make do. It is always nice to visit with them and my mom was invited too. Next year will be even more fun because Jason’s sister Trisha will be here with her family as well.
My family usually ends up at my Aunt’s house for lunch and then we play games in the backyard afterward. This year, Thanksgiving was at our house and we went for a walk afterwards. My Aunt graciously gave me her very yummy dressing recipe and it actually turned out well. The whole meal was delicious, down to the pumpkin pie for dessert!
Per tradition, we gathered around for a family picture.
A lovely first Thanksgiving in our new home. :o)
