I’ve seen the seasons before, but I’ve never fully experienced them. It is amazing to watch as the leaves begin to change colors. The full brilliance of red, yellow, green and brown leaves together is breathtaking. It is so interesting to see how the leaves changing makes a road you have traveled often change so dramatically. A walk to the mailbox envelopes you in beautiful colors and can’t help but put a smile on your face.
Once those leaves have made their debut the wind blows hard and they start to fall off their branches. I never knew there would be SO MANY! Now the trees are bare and the weather is turning cold. Every day it is cold and every day you need to layer your clothes and use a coat, not just one or two days a week. It is only going to get colder! We had snow flurries this week. Walking into the grocery store little tiny flakes were falling. Such a simple thing and in that moment was pure bliss. I cannot describe the feeling of fullness by witnessing the change in seasons, a feeling so complete and yet full of awe.
I think that is one of the best things about moving here. Our wonderful home, family nearby, and the changing seasons.
We took a walk at the peak of the leaves changing a while back. Here is that picture.
Here is that same view on Thanksgiving Day.
I can’t wait to see what it looks like with snow on the mountains.
